Student Background

I was a two-sport athlete in high school. I took the ROP course to get a hands-on aspect of law enforcement.

Program Description

I took Administration of Justice in 2008. We had several guest speakers come to speak to our class. I enjoyed that part of the class because I could pick the brain of the guest speaker. I also enjoyed the instructor Sam Castillo, because he is a Game Warden for the California Department of Game and Fish.

Outcomes

Taking this class paved the path to my career in law enforcement. In a way, I got my toes wet. I had an interest in law enforcement prior to the class, but that interest became a passion. I graduated from Jamestown College in 2012, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree with a major in criminal justice. Now I am employed at the Stutsman County Correctional Center in Jamestown, North Dakota.
