The CRYROP Distinguished Student Award is an opportunity to recognize students who have displayed a positive attitude, demonstrated outstanding skills in class, possess realistic career goals and whose future has been significantly impacted by ROP.
Recognition begins with each teacher nominating a minimum of one student for each industry sector they teach. Due to the number of health science (medical) course offerings, health science students are further divided to compete in two separate pathway groups.
Students create a 1½ – 3 minute video showcasing their talents and speaking about how their ROP classes have impacted their future career and education plans.
The video is judged by business and industry members. Based on the content of the video (not the format) one student from each industry sector (two for health sciences) is invited to an award ceremony scheduled in early spring.
